Dielectric heat sealer operators exposed to 3-100 MHz RF were analyzed for semen quality and blood hormone levels to determine if they were at increased risk for adverse reproductive effects. No significant semen effects were found associated with RF exposure. In addition, no significant effects were reported for serum LH, prolactin, or testosterone levels, although exposed men did have slightly elevated serum FSH levels than unexposed workers. The authors concluded, however, that these effects were only minor in terms of potential reproductive effects. |
