Pregnant Wistar rats (24 exposed, 24 sham-exposed) were exposed to 900 MHz RF (217 Hz pulse modulation; far field) from day 6 to day 19 of gestation, 20 h per day; SAR = 0,052 W/kg (lowest whole body value), 1,109 W/kg (highest partial body value abdomen), electrical field strength 41,25 V/m (inside cages). The individual body weights of the dams during pregnancy were determined and pathological investigations of dams and fetuses after terminal sacrifice at day 20 were performed. The study followed OECD guidelines, double-blind. No teratogenic, embryolethal or retarding effects of the exposure were found. Similarly, no statistically significant effects were observed on the dams. Start date December 1996, end date December 1998 |
