Model 434 MHz (CW) exposure to whole blood and analysis of hematopoietic cell membrane integrety
Details

Whole human blood was exposed to 434 MHz (CW) for 6 hr at a power density of up to 598 mW/cm2 using a waveguide system. Exposure did elevate the temperature over a range from 17.5 to 32.5 degrees. No significant effects of MW exposure on plasma levels of hemoglobin, sodium or potassium were reported. When whole blood was exposed in a semi-cylindrical container, increased RBC membrane disruption was observed, but the authors indicated that this may have been the result of exposure hot-spots.

Findings No Effects (even at thermal levels)
