2450 MHz (CW, PW) exposure to fungal cultures and analysis of growth and mutation |
Details |
|
Aspergillus nidulans and Physarum polycephalum were exposed to 2450 MHz CW or PW- 1 usec pulse width, 600 pulses/sec) for 1 hour at 10 mW/cm2. Exposure did not effect survival rate or morphological mutation frequency. Both MW and conventional heating accelerated DNA synthesis, and while MW heating was more effective, the authors suggest this may be due to more efficient volume heating by MW or microthermal gradients in suspensions.
