Model		2.45, 9.3 GHz (PW) exposure to monkeys and analysis of eye pathology and behavioral endpoints
Details		Rhesus monkeys were exposed repeatedly to 9.31 GHz (PW-AN/CPN-6 radar generator, 0.5 usec pulse rate, pulse repetition frequency 1050 cps) MW in the near field up to 34 months (total exposure time of 408-946 min at 20 W/kg and 275-594 min at 40 W/kg) and to 2.45 GHz (Ratheon "Microtherm" diathermy device) at 20 W/kg over 4 months (total exposure time of 549-750 min). Exposure did not result in ocular injury (no cataracts, no effects on cornea, aqueous and vitreous humors or retina, and no loss in visual capability). In addition, there were no significant or consistent hematological changes, no changes in social and sexual behaviors, and no effect on fecundity. The authors suggested that microwaves in the range of 10 GHz would be a safe alternative for caloric supplement and hypothermia treatment (J Micro Power 20: 13, 1985)
