915 MHz (GSM) exposure to Jurkat T-cells and analysis of signaling |
Details |
|
Jurkat T-cells (both +/- PHA) were exposed to 915 MHz (CW and GSM) RF at 2 W/kg for two 10-minute periods via a coaxial applicator that was attached to a perfused chamber where cells were cultured on a thin glass coverslip. During exposure or sham exposure, cells were imaged by Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy and intracellular calcium was measured by Fluo-3 fluorescence. The authors report that exposure did not result in any consistent changes in calcium flux. They further conclude that these studies indicate no apparent effect of RF emissions from mobile phones on calcium levels or calcium signaling in lymphocytes. |
