Occupational radio relay station exposure to workers and analysis of chromosome abnormalities in lymphocytes |
Details |
|
Workers occupationally exposed to RF from radio relay stations a field strengths of < 10mW/cm2 were examined for micronuclei and chromosome aberrations in peripheral blood lymphocytes. The values were compared with those found in medical staff occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation. Although the total number of chromosomal aberrations in both groups was significantly higher than in unexposed controls, a dose response correlation was reported only for medical staff exposed to ionizing radiation for > 6 yrs. |

Comments |
|
The lack of a dose response correlation as well as the lack of good exposure characterization and low level exposures makes the data questionable. |
