Microwave exposure in simulated human and animal models and analysis of of whole body and local SAR |
Details |
|
MW exposure was simulated in human tissue models to determine SAR values under different tissue conductivity and permittivity conditions using FDTD calculations. Results demonstrated that whole body SAR values were within 20% when the field was applied in E, H, or K orientations. Changes in the permittivity value for muscle by a factor of 0.5 only changed the whole body SAR by a factor of 0.81, but caused significant changes in localized SAR values. Additional studies involve the development of a numerical technique for the computation of localized SAR averaged over certain mass intervals. |
