980 MHz (AM 12-16 Hz) exposure to cats and analysis of EEG |
Details |
|
Cats were exposed to 980 MHz (AM 12-40 Hz) for 20 minutes at 0.01-0.05 mW/cm2. RF exposure using signals AM at 12-16 Hz resulted in increased signals from the auditory and parietal cortex during exposure, but not immediately before or after exposure. This effect was not observed following chemical damage of hair cells in the organ of Corti by administration of Ototoxin - Kanamicyn sulfate. Further, histological evidence suggested a direct effect on these hair cells by the RF exposure. The authors suggest these results indicate an RF effect on the auditory sensory system which is then translated into a brain / EEG response. |
