Occupational MW exposure of civilian and military personnel and correlation with cataracts |
Details |
|
Civilian and military subjects occupationally exposed to MW (n=736) were analyzed for cataracts and ocular pathology. MW exposure was associated with lens opacification and other pathology in one study (Arch Environ Health (1966) 12(1):23-29) but not another (Arch Environ Health (1965) 11(2):179-182). When effects were observed, they correlated with the duration of employment and regularity of exposure to MW, average power output, mode of power termination, and regularity of physical sensations (e.g., cutaneous heating). |
