2450 MHz (CW) exposure to rats and analysis of behavior |
Details |
|
Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to 2450 MHz (CW) MW for 7-8 hrs/day over a 9 month period. Rats were previously trained to press a lever to increase MW exposure in a cold environment. Aspirin (which lowers the hypothalamic temperature set point) increased the lever pressing behavior and subsequent MW exposure for warmth. A similar study using ethanol to change the hypothalmic temperature set point showed a behavioral response of less frequent lever pressing for MW reinforcement. |
