27 MHz (CW) exposure to rats and analysis of teratogenicity and development |
Details |
|
Sprague Dawley rats (pregnant dams) were exposed to 27.12 MHz (CW) RF at SARs of 1.1 x 10(-4) W/kg during gestation. Exposure increased the number of resorptions and post-implantation losses, and decreased body weight gain from day 0 to 20. Finally, there was a decrease in ossification of cranial bones in exposed fetuses. The authors conclude that the effects were non-thermal in nature. |

Comments |
|
A comment was made by Lu and Michaelson (Health Phys (1987) 53:545) criticizing the lack of accurate dosimetry in the study, and the authors responded (Health Phys 53(5):546-548) defending their study design. |
