Study Type In Vivo
Model 27 MHz (CW) exposure to rats and analysis of teratogenicity and development
Details

Sprague Dawley rats (pregnant dams) were exposed to 27.12 MHz (CW) RF at SARs of 1.1 x 10(-4) W/kg during gestation. Exposure increased the number of resorptions and post-implantation losses, and decreased body weight gain from day 0 to 20. Finally, there was a decrease in ossification of cranial bones in exposed fetuses. The authors conclude that the effects were non-thermal in nature.
