Model 445 MHz (CW) exposure to pregnant rats and analysis of teratogenic effects
Details

Wistar rats (pregnant dams) were exposed to 434 MHz (CW) MW at power levels that increased abdominal skin temperature to 42 C, 43 C, or higher for 15 minutes. Exposure to 40 or 75 cGy gamma rays was also performed. 42 C hyperthermia alone was slightly teratogenic and 43 C hyperthermia alone was more teratogenic. Exposure to both MW and gamma rays potentiated the effects of either MW or gamma rays alone.
