Model 836.55 MHz (TDMA) exposure to cell lines and analysis of gene expression ()
Details

PC12 cells treated with NGF were exposed in a TEM cell to 836.55 MHz TDMA at 0.41, 4.1, or 41 mW/kg for 20, 40, and 60 minutes. No changes were observed in c-fosor c-myc expression, although a small increase (38%) in c-jun was observed at the highest exposure level during a 20 minute exposure. This increase was not observed at the same exposure level during the 40 and 60 minute exposures. In the conclusion of the paper, Phillips notes that using a model of NGF stimulated PC-12 cells, it might not be possible to see further elevations in the expression of c-fos. In addition, he reports that the decrease in c-jun is similar to that seen in his lab following exposure of CCRF-CEM cells to a 1 G sinusoidal MF at 60 Hz.
