Sprague Dawley rats (60/group in sham, cage control, and multiple exposure groups) exposed to an 860 MHz MiRS/TDMA signal in a carrousel irradiator 6 hr/day, 5 days/wk, at ~1W/kg (brain average SAR) for 2 years in a study investigating the effects of RF exposure on tumor incidence and mortality at the end of a 2 year period of exposure. A record of body weight was taken, and examination of tumors of pituitary, thyroid, adrenal gland, mammary gland, and a detailed examination of CNS & PNS tumors, was performed. Results indicated no increase or change in incidence or mortality due to any neural or non-neural tumor type. |
