Radar exposure in US Air Force personnel and correlation with cancer |
Details |
|
US Air Force personnel diagnosed with brain tumors between January 1, 1970, and December 31, 1989 were analyzed for working exposure to microwaves. Exposure to RF/microwaves resulted in an elevated brain tumor incidence (OR 1.39, 95% CI 1.01 – 1.90) after adjusting for age and race. In addition, a risk of brain tumors was identified from simply attaining the position of an officer (OR 2.11, 95% CI 1.48-3.01). |
