2450 MHz (CW) exposure to rats and analysis of blood brain barrier permeability |
Details |
|
Sprague Dawley rats were exposed (right brain hemisphere only) to 2450 MHz (CW) microwaves for 30 minutes to produce a core body temperature of 45 - 50 degrees. Five minutes prior to the end of exposure, animals were injected with horseradish peroxidase. Blood brain barrier leakage was observed following exposures resulting in a body temperature of 42.5 C for 60 minutes or 44.3 C for 30 minutes. Exposure resulting in 42.5-42.8 C for 30 minutes did not cause any leakage. |
