2450 MHz (CW) exposure to Balb/C mice and analysis of immune parameters |
Details |
|
Balb/C mice (8 wk old females) were exposed to 2450-MHz (CW) RF for 30 minutes/day for 1-17 days at SARs of 11 W/kg (although a few experiments performed with as much as 22 W/kg) in the far-field of an anechoic chamber and analyzed for immune parameters. Lymphocytes from mice exposed to 11 W/kg for 2 and 5 days showed reduced mitogen stimulation following challenge with phytohemagglutinin (PHA) or concanavalin A (Con A), while lymphocytes from mice exposed to 11 W/kg for 4 and 7 days showed no change compared to controls. Activation in response to lipopolysaccaride was also suppressed in mice exposed to 11 W/kg for 2 days, but increased following exposure for 5-9 days. |
