2450 MHz (PW) exposure to CHO cells and analysis of cytogenic abnormalities |
Details |
|
Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were exposed to 2450 MHz (PW) RF for 2 hours (SAR = 33.8 W/kg) using a horn irradiator in an anechoic chamber and analyzed for chromosome aberrations. Exposures were performed either alone or in combination with mitomycin C or adriamycin treatment. The authors reported that RF exposure at non-thermal levels does not increase the frequency of chromosomal aberration as had been suggested by previous literature reports. Further, there was no indication that nonthermal RF exposure could synergize with MMC or ADR to produce genotoxic effects. |
