2375 MHz (CW) exposure to Drosophila melanogaster and analysis of mutations |
Details |
|
Drosophila melanogaster exposed to 2375 MHz (CW) RF for 60 minutes at 15 W/cm2, 10 minutes at 20 W/cm2, or 5 days at 25 W/cm2. The only significant effect observed was a decrease in the number of offspring in the group exposed 15 W/cm2 for 60 minutes. However, this was not seen in the higher exposure groups, and was suggested by the authors to be a result of variation or thermal effects of the microwave radiation on the male germ cells. No cumulative effect of repeated exposures on mortality of treated males. No effect on sex ratio of offspring |
