Dorsal root ganglia (DRG) from 9 day old chicks were cultured in the absense or presence of NGF (2 or 20 ng/ml) on rat tail collagen and exposed in vitro to 27 MHz (CW) RF for 30 minutes/day for 3 days on a circular pancake coil (no SAR levels given). Cells were fixed and analyzed following an additional 72 hours in culture, and length and number of neurite outgrowths were analyzed. Increased number and lengh of neurite outgrowths were observed with RF exposure and no or low (2 ng/ml NGF), but not 20 ng/ml NGF. |
