Occupational and environmental exposure to microwaves and correlation with (female) breast cancer |
Details |
|
Human subjects (33,509 cases of women dying of breast cancer in 24 states in 1984-1989 and 117,794 matched controls [noncancer deaths]) were examined for a correlation with radiofrequency exposure. Exposure history was reconstructed from previous employment to create a job-exposure matrix. The authors found a small but significant increased risk for breast cancer with high levels of RF exposure in white and black females (OR = 1.14 & 1.29, repectively), but no regular and dose-response association was observed. |
