Model 2450 MHz exposure to rats and analysis of immunological parameters (part of the WHO sponsored France-Russian study to address prior reports in the Russian literature)
Details

Wistar rats (n = 500) were exposed to 2450 MHz (CW) RF at 500 microW/cm2 for 7 hrs/day for 30 days and multiple immunological endpoints were analyzed. The authors report an increase in titer of auto-reactive antibodies to brain tissue, reactive oxygen species (nitric oxide and its derivatives (NO2-Tyrosine, NO-Arginine, NO-Cysteine + NO-Bovine Serum Albumin, NJ-Methionine + NO-Asparagine + No-Histidine, NO-BTrypnohan + NJ-Tyrosin), fatty acids with small chains, hydroxylated fatty acids (palmitic/myristic/oleic acid),and products of fatty acid oxidation. The authors also report a higher incidence of prenatal death in pups injected with serum from exposed animals. The study is the Russian half of a joint France-Russia cooperative study sponsored by the World Health Organization to address prior reports in the Russian literature.
