Model 900 MHz mobile phone exposure to rats and analysis of brain pathology
Details

Rats (n = 30) were exposed to radiofrequency fields for periods ranging from 2.5 minutes/day to 2.5 hours/day using a mobile phone hooked to the network and placed inside the animal cage. Following exposure, brains were removed and analyzed for a change in number or appearance of nuclear organizing regions. The authors report an increase of nuclear organizing regions with exposure with a dose response. They also report increased proliferative activity and protein synthesis in neuronal and glial cells.
