Primary cultures of chromaffin cells were exposed to magnetic fields at 6.4 milliT using permanent magnets that rotated around the petri dishes resulting in carrier frequencies of 4, 7, 10 or 12Hz. Cells were exposed for 2hr / day for 7 days. The authors report exposure at 7 and 10 Hz increased neurite outgrowth on chromaffin cells, and suggest exposures may have value in future clinical applications for nerve regeneration. |
