Model 50 Hz exposure to pregnant mice and analysis of reproductive endpoints
Details

NMRI mice (n = 80) were superovulated, mated with males, and exposed to 50 Hz ELF at 0.5 milliT for 4 hr/day, 6 days/wk, for 2 weeks and analyzed for fertility as well as the height of epithelial cells in pre-implantation stage endometrium and fallopian tubes via histology. The authors report that ELF exposure decreased the number of blastocysts and increased the height of fallopian tube epithelial cells (P<0.001). The authors suggest ELF exposure may have detrimental effects on female reproduction.
