ID Number 2160
Study Type In Vitro
Model 50 Hz (ELF) exposure to human and mouse cells in vitro and analysis of reactive oxygen intermediates and protein expression.
Details

Mouse macrophages (MBM) derived from bone marrow were exposed to 50 Hz ELF at 1 milliT for 5, 15, 30, or 45 minutes and analyzed for reactive oxygen species (ROS) and redox-related protein expression. TPA and E coli LPS were used as positive controls for ROS and stress response induction. The authors report a 1.4 fold increase in ROS with 45 minute exposures, with non-linear changes in certain protiens (e.g., membrane-associated subunit of the NADPH oxidase complex gp91, clathrin, P13-kinase) with certain exposure times but not others.
