Study Type In Vivo
Model 50 Hz (PEMF) exposure to isolated rabbit semen and analysis of sperm characteristics and subsequent impregnation rate
Details

Semen from M91 and P91 rabbits was exposed to 50 Hz ELF pulsed magnetic fields at 54.5, 40.29, or 21.33 mT for 20 minutes. The authors report increased sperm motility with the highest exposure level and decreased sperm motility at the lowest exposure level as compared to control. The authors also report decreased progressive motility in a dose response manner. At the lowest level of exposure, sperm had decreased velocity and increased pregnancy rate as compared to controls.
