Human volunteers (n = 24) were exposed to 900 MHz (GSM) using a mobile phone handsets hooked to the network and placed in a pocket suspended from the neck and located in the left parasternal area (between the 2nd and 5th intercostal spaces of the anterior chest). The phone was either placed in silent mode or allowed to ring to annouce incoming calls. The authors report no effects of exposure from the phone (either with or without ringing) on ECG measurements, heart rate, or blood pressure. |
