Model 50 Hz exposure to rat brain synaptosomes and analysis of membrane permeability and mitochondrial function
Details

Isolated synaptosomes from Sprague Dawley rat brains were exposed to 50 Hz square wave ELF for 2 hrs at 2 milliT and assessed for mitochondrial respiration, ATP production, membrane potential, Ca2+ concentration, and release of free iron and F2-isoprostanes. The authors report no significant effect other than slowly decreasing Ca2+ concentration with no associated membrane depolarization.
