Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 32) were exposed to 900 or 1800 MHz (CW) for 2 h/day, 5 days/wk, 2 or 4 wks at 2.0 W/kg in the proximity of the ear using a loop antenna. Following exposure the thyroid gland was removed, processed, and examined. The authors reported at BEMS 2009 (Davos Switzerland) that there were no effects of exposure on histopathology or serum levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxin (T4) levels. |
