60 Hz exposure to pregnant rats and analysis of maturation of offspring and insulin and thyroid hormone levels.
Details
Pregnant rats were exposed to 60 Hz (ELF) at 3 microT for 2hrs/day over the period of gestation and evaluated for both hormone and metabolite levels. Exposure resulted in decreased glucose uptake by cells and decreased T4:T3 hormone ratio in pregnant dams fed a restricted diet (which normally leads to decreased serum insulin and cortisol)
