50 Hz (ELF) exposure to rats and analysis of reproductive organs and hormones |
Details |
|
Wistar rats were exposed to 50 Hz magnetic field at 4.821 +/- 0.158 microT and evaluated for reproductive organ morphology and hormone levels. The authors report some significant (P < 0.05) decreases in reproductive organ weight (uterus, ovaries) and progesterone and 17-beta estradiol levels among the different groups, as well as consistent decreases in plasma catalase activity (but not of glutathione or malondialdehyde) after 3 months of exposure.
