900 MHz (GSM) exposure to human volunteers and analysis of EEG (while awake) |
Details |
|
Volunteers were exposed to a 900 MHz (GSM) mobile phone held in position using a headset apparatus and transmitting in test mode at an estimated average SAR of 0.5 W/kg at maximum power (no actual measurements were performed). The authors report increases in spectral power(i.e., activity) in the alpha (8-12 Hz) band EEG especially at 9 - 10 Hz. The authors suggest these bands are associated with good cognitive performance and alertness, although there were no significant effects on self-rated sleepiness. |
