50 Hz (ELF) field exposure to rats (from high voltage transmission lines) and analysis of general pathology and tissue function
Details
Rats were exposed to 50 Hz ELF fields for 12 months and evaluated using EEG, ECG and CMAP measurements. In addition, brain tissues were examined pathologically. The authors report the fourier transform infrared spectra of brain tissues and ECG recordings from exposed animals were different than those of sham or cage control animals. In addition, heart rate was slowed. A subsequent study using similar exposure looking at testicular tissue pathology was also reported.
