Details |

Arabidopsis thaliana (thale cress, mouse-ear cress) expressing a Col0-1 Aeq Cy+ reporter gene that drives aequorin (photoprotein isolated from luminescent jellyfish) was exposed to 50 Hz (ELF) at 65 microT. The authors report The resulting changes in free Ca2+ (monitored by aequorin bioluminescence)increased transiently following exposure and ceasation of exposure, with the latter effect decreasing with increasing duration of exposure. The authors also report specific time, frequency, and field strength windows where the plants were most responsive. |
