2450 MHz (PW) exposure to rats and analysis of spatial learning and brain glucocorticoid recepter responses |
Details |
|
Wistar rats were exposed to 2450 MHz (pulsed) RF at an average power density of 1 mW/cm2 for 3 hr/day for to 30 days. The authors report exposed rats had increased plasma corticosterone levels, glucocorticoid recepter nuclear translocation, and apoptosis in the hippocampus. The rats also showed significant decreases in spatial learning and memory performance. When rats were co-administration the GR antagonist RU486, the effects of exposure were partially blocked. The authors suggest glucocorticoids might contribute to cognition deficits induced by chronic low-power-density RF exposure.
