900, 1800 MHz (GSM) exposure to pregnant mice and analysis of litter size and reproductive tissues |
Details |
|
Swiss albino mice (n = 60 pregnant females) were exposed using a mobile phone hooked to the network (presumably either 900 or 1800 MHz GSM) and in standby mode for 11 hours and 15 minutes and in talk mode for an additional 15 minutes each day for 21 days during pregnancy. The authors report exposure significantly decreased the number of pups per delivery (p = 0.001) but not average pup weight. There was also a significant decrease in the volume (p = 0.005) and number of follicles (p = 0.001) in subsequent ovarian sections for pathological analysis. |
