50 Hz (ELF) exposure to mice and analysis of c-fos and c-jun protein levels in the brain |
Details |
|
Mice were exposed to 50 Hz ELF at 2 milliT for 96 hours using a Helmholtz coil. Following exposure, brains were divided into olfactory, left hemisphere, right hemisphere, cerebellum, and mesencephalon + medula samples and protein expression analyzed via western blot. The authors report no significant changes in the levels of c-fos proteins from the different brain regions, although there was a non-significant elevation across all brain fractions in exposed females. The expression of c-jun was significantly decreased in both males and females, most predominantly in the olfactory and right hemisphere fractions of females. |

Comments |
|
Ivaschuk et al observed no change in c-fos and an INCREASE in c-jun when PC12 cells treated with NGF were exposed to 836.55 MHz TDMA at 0.41, 4.1, or 41 mW/kg for 20, 40, and 60 minutes |
