1800 MHz (GSM) exposure to chick embryos and evaluation of development such as retinal tissue and pigment development. |
Details |
|
Chick eggs were exposed to 1800 MHz (GSM) using a mobile phone (hooked to the local network) twice each day for 15 minutes (with no active voice, presumably in DTx mode). Embryos were sacrificed on either day 10 or 15 and evaluated for retinal growth and epithelial pigmentation in the eyes. The authors report in embryos exposed for 10 day and sacrificed, exposure caused an initial decreased retinal thickness and epithelial pigmentation. In 15 day exposed embryos, retinal thickness and epithelial pigmentation was increased. The authors suggest a possible role of RF in progressive pre-neoplastic transformation. |
