Proximity to high voltage power lines and leukemia in children |
Details |
|
Homes of children with acute leukemia (n = 87) were evaluated for proximity to overhead high voltage transmission lines and an average magnetic field in the home was estimated. The authors report residence within 500 meters (average ELF 0.6 microT) had an odds ratio of 8.67 (95% CI 1.74-58.4). For magnetic fields >0.45 microT the OR was 3.60 (95% CI 1.11-12.39). |
