Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) were exposed to 9.71 GHz (PW - 9usec pulse length, 1% duty cycle) for 20 minutes at0.5 - 16 W/kg (determined by FDTD modeling). The authors report an increase in free radical production in the yeast cultures (via 4-POBN spin trap testing) that was not due to thermal mechanisms. |
