Mobile phone use and hearing loss - case study of a patient in Saudi Arabia |
Details |
|
Case study of a patient presenting with sensorineural hearing loss in his right ear. Patient claimed mobile phone use for 90 minutes per day using right ear. Following a switch to using the left ear for mobile phone conversation, the right ear improved and left ear became progressively worse. Upon converting to using only speakerphone, hearing progressively became better. The authors suggest possible chronic exposure to RF from mobile phones may affect outer hair cells of the cochlea. |
