EMI testing of medical devices with mobile phones and WiFi transmitters |
Details |
|
Medical devices in Karolinska Hospital, Sweden were tested for EMI using mobile phones (GPRS, UMTS / CDMA FDD) and WLAN (2450 MHz 802.11b) transmitters. The authors report EMI mainly in older medical devices (e.g., older infusion pumps) and display monitors. The authors suggest direct contact of mobile RF transmitters should be managed, but complete restrictions are not recommended. |
