A cohort of drivers in Canada (n = 36,078) were questioned regarding mobile phone habbits during driving. This information was matched to driver records and insurance claims. The authors report vehicle accidents are up to 38% higher over all mobile phone users than in non-users. The correlation had a dose response relationship, with heavy mobile phone users having a 2 fold increase over non-users or minimal users. |
