900 MHz (GSM) and 2 GHz (UMTS) modeling of low frequency emissions and simulation of interaction with voltage gated and non-gated ion flow in the brain - mechanism for subjective disorders |
Details |
|
Modeling of low frequency emissions from 900 MHz (GSM) and 2 GHz (UMTS) handsets was performed and compared to normal human awake EEG band activity. The authors report several low frequency peaks overlap with well documented frequencies of brain activity (e.g., delta - 2 Hz, and alpha - 8.3 Hz). The authors then modeled the effect of simulated electrical stimulation of various brain systems (e.g., voltage gated channels and normal ion flow) and report that such systems could be disrupted by such electro-stimulation. They further suggest this as a mechanism for reported subjective effects (e.g., congnition). |
