64, 127 MHz (MRI) exposures and modeling of SAR distribution in a pregnant female inside an MRI device using FDTD models |
Details |
|
Computational modeling of an anatomically realistic pregnant female with a 28 week-old fetus exposed in an MRI device (64 and 127 MHz; 1.5 and 3 T). The authors discuss the results in terms of compliance with ICNIRP and other national guidelines. The maximum value of local SAR, averaged over either 1 g or 10 g occurs in the mother. In the fetus, the max local SAR was 40-70% of the max local SAR in the mother. The results suggest that compliance will require control of the maternal max local SAR rather than whole-body SAR. |
