Study Type In Vitro
Model 30 GHz exposure to human keratinocytes and analysis of gap junction intercellular communication
Details

HaCaT human keratinocyte cells +/- TPA were exposed to 30 GHz for 1 hour at either 1 or 3.5 mW/cm2. Gap Junction Intercellular Communication (GJIC) was followed using flourescent dye uptake after photobleaching. The authors report that mm wave exposure alone had no effect, but that low dose mm wave exposure resulted in a partial reversal, and high dose mm wave exposure resulted in a full reversal, of TPA suppression of GJIC.
