500 kHz exposure to hippocampal slices and analysis of tissue changes |
Details |
|
Hippocampal slice cultures from 7-14 day old rats were exposed to 500 kHz RF (CW or PW, 2 Hz pps) for 120 seconds. Maximal temperature in the PW exposed culture was controlled at either 38 or 42 degrees C; exposure using 500 kHz CW resulted in a 42 degree temperature. The authors report PW exposure resulted in a transient inhibition of evoked potential synaptic activity, while CW resulted in a prolonged inhibition of synaptic activity. |
