900 and 1800 MHz (GSM) exposure to humans from a mobile phone and analysis of auditory function and auditory evoked potentials |
Details |
Human subjects (n = 30) were exposed to 900 and 1800 MHz (GSM) RF for 10 minutes from a mobile phone handset (apparently hooked up to the network, no information on power or SAR) while a recorded conversation was delivered at 60 dB and examined for pure tone audiometry (a measure of hearing sensitivity in the outer ear, middle ear, cochlea, cranial nerve, and central auditory system) and auditory evoked potentials. The authors report no effects of RF exposure on these endpoints. |
